How to Build Your Spirit|A Little Faith

Hey guys! So today we’re continuing with the last video we made on this topic about the spirit. In the last video I talked about how I came to believe in the fact that we have spirits… and how the spirit is connected to the life of our physical bodies. Just a quick recap. In the history of the Bible, a prophet named Elijah, he revived a widow’s son. And Jesus revived a rulers daughter. What these two incidents share in common was– Their spirits came back into their body and they came back to life. Without the spirit the body is mere flesh and bones. It is the spirit that gives your body life. And it’s even more directly depicted it in this scripture– “As the body without the spirit is dead, so faith without deed is dead.” Mind how it says, “the body without the spirit is dead.” The spirit is the core to life. If you haven’t seen the last video, I strongly advise you to check it out before we go on with this one. But if you have, well… Let’s go! So today we’re gonna head on to talk about how we can build the spirit. If you have some sort of electronic device , say a smartphone… Well you might have got it at a quite expensive price. But at the end of the day, it’s only worth as much as your understanding of its capabilities. You will never have access to the Internet world if you don’t know how to switch on the Wi-Fi. We need to learn not only about the things in the physical world, … but also the things in the spiritual
world. We need to turn on that Wi-Fi. Now I want to share with you a metaphor that explains how the spirit grows. You were conceived in your mother’s womb which took nine months to form the foundations of your current body. And after you were born to this world, you then live for the next 70 to 100 years. During pregnancy, your mother most likely gave you the best she could… by eating healthy, doing proper exercise, … being extremely cautious when moving around. She might have even given you Beethoven or Mozart while you were still in her womb. The reason why mothers do that is because these nine months are crucial to the baby’s development. It’s not too much to say that these nine months will to a huge degree determine the foundation of a baby’s life. Now that’s basically the same logic with your spirit. Your spirit is the baby now. Your body is the spirits womb. The pregnancy is 70 to 100 years. Get what I’m trying to tell you? Depending on how you conduct this life
will determine how your spirit will be developed. The body eventually dies away, but the spirit lives on forever. When the baby is inside the womb, to the baby the womb is its entire world. It’s all it sees. But when the baby leaves the womb, it comes to realize… Wow! there’s actually a much bigger world out here! In that same way, the spiritual world is way beyond our imagination compared to the physical one. The spirit is way beyond our imagination compared to the body. So just as any mother can’t afford to be careless in pregnancy, we cannot afford to be careless in this lifetime We need to be intentional in raising our spirit. But here’s the next question– How? What should we do? What does the spirit feed on? In Romans 7:22, “For in my inner being I delight in God’s law.” That inner being, that little person inside–
the spirit takes delight in God’s law.” Namely, the Word of God. God’s Words is Truth and eternal love. And when we learn about truth and we get that sense of eternal love… our spirit rejoices! It grows, it becomes stronger, it becomes brighter, it becomes more complete. You can’t see the spirit, but you can feel it. Just like you can’t see God, but you can feel God… with your heart When you feel empty, that’s your spirit calling out to you saying… “Hey! I’m hungry! Feed me! I’m unsatisfied. And the only thing that can fulfill the everlasting spirit is something that can match up to its eternity. And that is something that’ll never change, something that’ll last forever… And that is God’s Words. When you start learning and living by God’s Words… you start to feel that strong and true sense of contentment deep down inside. Right here. Now when you hear something for the first time, here’s how the mind works. You hear something, it comes straight in through the ears, it reaches the brain… And then your mind starts thinking, “Hmm… should I accept this or not?” If you decide to accept it then the mind starts processing it. And it generates this urge to take action with it. When you continuously and repeatedly take action with those thoughts… What happens is– in the course of time your lifestyle changes accordingly. To take it one step further, when your lifestyle changes… the spirit starts to change too. And what it changes into depends on what thoughts you decided to accept and live by in the first place. So three points to wrap up today’s video. First, your mind is shaped by the thoughts you process. And your thoughts are affected by the things you see and listen to. So pay attention and choose wisely. If you want to become a spiritual person…
If you want to become a person of Truth and love… Then listen to God’s Words. That is the most essential thing in life. That is the most important thing for every human being on this earth. Choose what to listen to. Listen to God’s Words. Second, your deeds are determined by your mind which is also your heart. And your fate is determined by your deeds. Everything starts from up here, your mind , your heart. It’s like the engine that gives thrust to this body. And as it’s said in the Bible, … “Above all else, guard your heart, for everything you do flows from it.” Guard your heart… ‘cos everything you do flows from here. So second, guard your heart, namely your mind. Discern right from wrong. And how?? With the Word of God. And last, your spirit only changes when
you put God’s Words into practice. Keepin’ it up here won’t do you much good, you need to live it out. As Jesus once said, … “Not everyone who says to me ‘Lord, Lord’ will enter the kingdom of heaven, … “…but only the one who does the will of My Father who is in heaven.” And as it’s in the Bible again… “As the body without the spirit is dead, so faith without deeds is dead.” Faith without deeds is dead. Literally saying your faith counts for nothing… Nothing! If you don’t put it into practice. And that’s how you build the spirit. When you start living a spiritual life, you’ll find that the physical life benefits from it too. That’s because it is God’s will for you to do so, so God will help you in everything you need to do so. Makes sense! I hope you’ve learned a lot through today’s video. I wish you the best in your daily life. I do wish you a prosperous spiritual living. If you need me to pray for you, please let me know in the comment section. I’ll keep it in my prayers. But just to remind you, your own prayers always count for the best Till the next video, see you guys next time And God bless you.
