God’s Provision Follows Belief | Tony Evans

A man, one day, was lost in a desert. It was blazing hot—blazing hot. If he didn’t get some water soon he was going
to die of thirst. So he’s stammering just one step at a time,
knowing that he won’t make it much further. Then, in the distance, he saw a little shack. He walks inside the shack. He looks over to the side and there’s a pump,
a pump connected to a well. “Maybe I can get some water.” He pumps and pumps and pumps, nothing is coming
out. And then he saw it. Little over here on the side was a glass of
water with a sign under it. The sign said, “Use this water to prime the
pump. And then fill it up again for the next traveller.” Now he’s on the horns of a dilemma. Cause at least if I drink the water, I can
make it another day. But if I use this water to prime this pump,
and this pump don’t prime, then I’m going to die. Do I take the risk based on the word that
was written underneath the glass, or do I take this water and just satisfy myself for
the moment. You are that man. I am that man. You can say, “I’m going to take what I have”—whatever
the category is—”and I’m going to use it for me, get as much out of it as I can,” or
“I’m going to believe the Word.” He primed the pump. The pump gushed with water and he lived for
many days because he believed the word. Do you believe the Word? Or do you just come to church?
