Evolution of Worship Music – A Cappella Medley

Be Thou my vision O Lord of my heart Not be all else to me save that Thou art Thou my best thought by day or by night Waking or sleeping Thy presence my light O praise Him, O praise Him Hallelujah, hallelujah Hallelu Let goods and kindred go This mortal life also The body they may kill God’s truth abideth still His kingdom is forever Praise to the Lord the Almighty the King of creation O my soul praise Him for He is thy health and salvation Amazing grace how sweet the sound That saved a wretch like me I once was lost But now I’m found Was blind but now I see When darkness seems to hide His face I rest on his unchanging grace In every high and stormy gale My anchor holds holds within the veil And the things of Earth will grow strangely dim In the light of His glory and grace O victory in Jesus my Saviour forever He plunged me to victory Beneath the cleansing flood Burdens are lifted at Calvary Calvary Calvary Burdens are lifted at Calvary Jesus is very near That’s how it is with God’s love Once you’ve experienced it You spread his love to everyone You want to pass it on Soon and very soon We are going to see the King Soon and very soon We are going to see the king hallelujah! Soon and very soon We are going to see the King Hallelujah hallelujah We are going to see the King Our God is an awesome God he reigns From heaven above With wisdom power and love Our God is an awesome God Shout to the Lord all the earth, let us sing Power and majesty praise to the King Mountains bow down and the seas will roar At the sound of Your name I’m trading my sorrows I’m trading my shame I’m laying them down for the joy of the Lord God of wonders beyond our galaxy You are holy, holy Holy, holy, holy is the Lord God Almighty Who was and is and is to come Your love never fails, it never gives up Never runs out on me Your love never fails, it never gives up Never runs out on me And I will call upon Your name And keep my eyes above the waves When oceans rise My soul will rest in your embrace For I am Yours And You’re a good good Father It’s who You are And I’m loved by You Our God is the Lion, the Lion of Judah He’s roaring with power And fighting our battles And every knee will bow before Him I’ve seen You move You move the mountains And I believe I’ll see You do it again You made a way Where there was no way And I believe I’ll see You do it again I’ll see You do it again Lord I believe Heart of my own heart, whatever befall Still be my vision O Ruler of all If you’re still watching that means you’ve made it through almost 1500 years of Christian music This video was a lot of fun to make It was a lot of work and it took a long time and I wouldn’t have been able to do it without the generous support of my patrons on Patreon Especially by super patron Marsha Hansen. God of Wonders and Revelation were oneven of the many songs on repeat where my mom cleaned- I had to stay over with her at work during the summer when I was a kid. The church used to let it play for the workers. They don't do it anymore though.

I am Hindu convert. Born in 90's. Thanks for the video. Always wanted to know how old these songs are. Can believe "shout to the Lord" came out the same time I was born

Lovely. I noticed from the 1930's, 1970's and 1993 onwards sounds as if the African American influence was very pronounced. And the base or drum beat is also more pronounced. I enjoyed this video. Thank you.

Beautiful talent. This is your calling but make sure you go before the Lord how the angels go in humble adoration.  Not with beats like this, but perhaps you don't know yet.  Study music like they had in the bible and you can hone your skills.  Blessings.

The power of a cappella…this video has the feel of the Maccabeats or Six13 (Jewish a cappella groups). Same vibes, similar angles of lightness and upbeat emotion. I'm sure this man worked very hard to achieve the end result, which sounded very good. I didn't know that we had similar-sounding Christian a cappella videos.

You've somehow managed to make traditional church music interesting. I usually mumble along to most of the songs as I count down the minutes till church ends

A lot of mainstream Christian pop is so annoying. Anything with water, ocean, wave, lake , river- you’ve got a hillsong hit

I'm I the only one that this came up on their recommendations?
I started to recognize some of the songs when it got into the 2000s part.
Anyway, may God bless whoever is reading this comment.

I love this!! Such a great reminder of all the ways we can sing a new song to the Lord! He’s so infinitely wonderful that all the new songs in 1500 years can’t capture His majesty!

Creative! And I love how you compiled all the songs from history. It sure brought back a lot of fond memories of some of the oldies that I grew up with in Sunday school and youth group. Some of the songs are so timeless. Thank you!

I like this video. But what have I learned? Very few songs have staying power. I was raised in the Southern Baptist tradition and now attend nondenominational churches. But even my friends of different religions or no religion know “Amazing Grace.” Will many of these contemporary songs be sung 300 years from now? I don’t think so.

This was beautiful I loved it . Looked up every song . One small note : I looked up do it again by chris brown and that is NOT the christian song by evolution music . I was slightly disturbed listening to the lyrics (do it again like we did on the one night stand..) lol . But aside from that thank you so much ! Great work
