You did a great job. I understand that pronounciation of czech names and locations was not quite easy 😀 Greetings from Czech republic. You could do a video about Battle of White mountain. The most crushing defeat for Czechs and 300 years of Habsburg rule in Bohemia.

A great video. It is also worth mentioning that not all Czechs became Hussites (of any kind). Parts of the country remained Catholic, most notably Plzeň/Pilsen (the largest city of West Bohemia…also the place where Pils beer originaly comes from, but that's much later history 🙂 ). More precisely, Pilsen allied itself with the Hussites at the very beginning and then flipped sides to support the Catholics and king/emperor Sigismund. Hussites laid siege to Pilsen for that but they never succeeded in conquering the city and during one of the Pilseners' raids into their camp they even lost a prized gift from the Polish king – a live camel. The camel has since then been a part of the city's coat of arms. Still, even as a Pilsener I have to admit the Hussites were pretty amazing warriors and Žižka was brilliant general who foreshadowed the pike-and-shot warfare with his Wagenburg tactics. However, they were religious fanatics (the Taborites especially) and the Hussite wars devastated the country and ultimately made it much easier for the Habsburgs to eventually dominate central Europe and the Empire.

After Hussite wars czech soldiers were ranked the highest in europe. Hunyadi also had many of them in his army and he learned the usage of wagons from them.

Judging of Sigismund is quite controversial. He came from a smaller principality and married the daughther of Lajos (Louis) the Great hungarian anjou king. He was taken as prisoner more times by hungarian nobilites but somehow he allways managed to speak out himself from hard situations. That is what he was especially good at, speaking. Nobody thought too much of him at the start but he used his talent well and at last he was elected to Emperor of Holy Roman Empire. He was bad war lord or general but excelent organizer. Until he was only hungarian king he allways runned out of money so he sold Dalmatia to Venetians, and a dozen city to Poland. In the other hand his laws were very smart and modern at that time. Furthermore he was kind of a playboy and lived his life that way. Rumors said that he even seduced Hunyadi's mother and Hunyadi is actually his child. It is good to know that he took care of Hunyadi from his childhood and directed him to positions what no one else got so easily. Of course he had a lot of other bastard child but officially he had only one daughter who inherited the throne after his death and married to the first Habsburg hungarian king, Albert the first who reigned for only one year.

    Fun fact:
    The Hussites collectivized their property.
Guess why they and their revolutionary ways were so dangerous to the wealthy.

Nice video about very complicated wars. Thank you for it. Zizka is considered by many as one of the greatest warlords of all times. He would probably deserve special separate video.

Jan Hus was NOT "anti-church." He was anti-papacy because it is not Biblical. The entire "schism" was about the Biblical authority of The Roman Catholic Church because they were wont to make things up that had nothing to do with the Epistles and the letters to the Church by Christ's apostles. There was a righteous break from Rome, based solely upon what was written in the Bible, away from the clear apostasy of Roman Catholic doctrine.

The Hussite guns and artillery behind the wagon tactic was very good at defeating the crusaders army. it took a Tcheck army using the same tactic to defeat the Hussite.

Protestantism really ruined all heterodox Christian popular movements for me. I really can't appreciate them any more and I can't help but cheer whenever they get defeated, though obviously I'm horrified at their brutal destruction by the Catholic nobles and kings and don't wish for them to die or suffer. I just can't help but look them as either reactionary forces or proto-imperialist invaders. Protestantism has simply turned everything to Hell after the success of the Northern European colonial empires that created the United States.

So, was the last Taborite leader Prokop the Bald, the Bold or the Bored? I could not decide from the narrator's pronunciation.

The PC-created animation illustrating the narrative is grotesque, showing some Ancient Roman environment. If any of you are interested in what those Hussite wars and the warriors involved really looked like, try and find videos from the Czech film "Proti všem" here on You Tube.

About socalled christianity. It started two thousand years ago with this man known to us as Jesus. He warned that after his death his enemy (satan means enemy) would plant a false seed and lead people away from the thruth.(matthew 13:24-30) And did this happen? A bit over three centuries later did the romans decleare themselvs to be christians and they started killing everyone that would not accept their "christianity". They also forbid translations of the bible into languages people could understand, even killed those who tryed to translate. And they ruled europe with a cruel hand up through the centurie.,(the movie "Name of the rose" gives a good pic of this dark period) Meanwhile in Mekka did another "prophet" found a new religion, claiming it was the only thruth. Just as Jesus foretold, but how long should this continue? His diciples asked Jesus about this in Matthew chap. 24, based on what they had read in Daniel chap.12.

I was at tábor visiting while there was a city festival, celebrating husites. Chills when hundreds of people sang the husite hymn, kdož sů boží bojovníci / who are the god´s warriors.

I love this, thank you so ,I love medieval history and I am slowly learning more and more about numerous forms of Protestantism in the Middle Ages , long before the great works of Martin Luther. May the Lord Jesus Christ bless you.
